Right, I know it's almost the middle of the month, and everyone else posted their 2017 goals ages ago, but I'm a perfectionist and was waiting for the perfect thing to put in my photos! And now it's here, my photos are done, and here we are :-). 

I have another post coming soon that is kind of a new year themed thing (don't worry it's NOT "New Year, New Me") but this one is all about my goals for the blog this year, so let's see shall we...

Well Hello there!!

Whether you are a regular reader who is excited to have a look at the newly relaunched site, or a new reader who was drawn in by all my chatter about redesigning on Twitter, welcome to Love and Other Awesome Stuff!!

I'm sure some of you had noticed that I hadn't posted in some time and that is because I'd fallen out of love with what I was doing. I let myself get taken in by what I thought I had to write to get people interested in what I had to say. I took a break to remind myself why I started blogging, and to think about what I REALLY wanted to share with the world, and thank God I finally sat back down in front of my computer, and was able to write something I wasn't disappointed with.

I got my mojo back, but there was no point in bringing out new and improved content, onto the same old, tired design, so voila...Love and OAS 2.0 is born. I really do hope you like it, and remember to scroll down and check out my advertisers, and a few little sidebar additions that might make you smile :-).

This new incarnation is going to be a lot more Lifestyle focused- it will feature rants, likes, dislikes, Love Sharing, reviews, memories, juicy insights into my ever so exciting (I jest of course) life. I will still have some beauty and fashion of course because I love those things and they do feature in my day to day life. Above all this will be a place of positivity, and place that makes you laugh, smile, and nod along in agreement, or even that encourages you to form an opinion of your own and have a lively debate with me.

Love and Other Awesome Stuff is proud to be a member of The Girl Gang which is just an amazing group of wonderful bloggers who endeavour to spread love and friendship all around- I hope to uphold those values through my content, and my interactions with you guys.

Lastly, I LOVE making new friends so please come over and say hi on Twitter!!

The Versatile Blogger Award

I have discovered so many lovely people over the last couple of months in the blogging community. I know all the non-bloggers out there are probably thinking "Did she honestly just type blogging community?" and I DID because it really is. These fellow bloggers support each other, share hints and tips, actually give a damn if you are having a good day or not- it is the best community I have ever been a part of. Just the other day when I was having an awful day -brought on mostly by overcharged hormones (damn things) and horrible, horrible people- not one, but two. fellow bloggers managed to make me smile! Go them! The first was the lovely Olivia Jade at Dungarees and Donuts and her #sharelove movement- keep an eye on her blog to see what it's all about. And second was my spirit animal Hayley at It's Just Me Hayley D who very kindly nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Both these ladies had such lovely things to say that I was truly flattered...but enough prattling on let's do this Versatile Blogger Award thing!!

As I understand it The Versatile Blogger Award is an award for newbie bloggers, much like the Liebster Award but with slightly different rules. This time I have to tell you all 7 random facts about me (have we not heard enough already?) and then nominate 15 newbie bloggers to take on the task themselves.

Here Goes...

  1. I am an Angel Mum - Our baby would have been turning 1 on the 18th of March 2015 (if he had been born on time) but instead he is partying on the clouds and we will light a candle in his honour, in his own little, engraved tealight holder,
  2. I am 27 years old and still don't really know what I want to do when I "grow up" and do you know what I'm not even worried about it. When I'm ready to make that decision I will make it, and if it is the wrong one, I'll do something else...it's not the end of the world to change your mind. 
  3. I hate the feeling of having wet skin. Here's where it gets weird...I love the feeling of the water falling over me in the shower BUT the minute I step out of that shower I need to be drying off because the feeling of half wet/half dry skin actually gives me the creeps. 
  4. I *whisper it* am becoming a bit of a professional wrestling fan! (Don't tell Damian).
  5. I have recently added Unicorns to my growing obsession list. They join turtles, Tangled, Princess Aurora, and angel wings- just warning a certain somebody that the flat will be filling up with these soon. 
  6. I recently gave into the devil and purchased a Kindle. This admission hurts me deeply BUT when two of your favourite authors start releasing additional stories from your favourite worlds on ebook only, there is no other choice. I'm looking at you Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl!!
  7. I collect hotel room keycards! When I say collect I mean steal, and then add to my memories box. I don't even remember when this started but It's like a mini mission every time I stay in a hotel. "Oops I lost my key", "I'm so sorry but I seem to have left my key in the room", "can we get one each please" all things I have said that weren't necessary, or necessarily true, but that culminated in me adding another key to my collection. 
Wow these things are getting difficult!

Blogs of Note

Since I started this a few people have asked me what inspired me to try (again) and I have to admit it's other bloggers that have encouraged me to give it a shot, whether they know that or not! So I thought what better way to say thank you by mentioning them in their own little post.

 This is in no particular order it is simply a list of the blogs I love and read on a regular basis :-).

1) It Was Against Her Better Judgement is one of the best blogs on the Internet if you're into very well written, articulate blog posts with a dash of humour behind them. This is a personal blog in every sense of the word, but it is written by a very intelligent writer who welcomes you in to her life in the most comfortable way possible.

 2)The Granite City Girl is a classmate called Hannah who is also relatively new to the blogger world. So far her posts have kept me entertained, given me tips, and made me laugh (in a good way)- if this is her at the beginning I can't wait to see where she goes.

3) Bethany Joy is an amazing actress and singer, who also happens to be an amazing blogger! I will admit that I originally searched for this blog in a total fan-girl moment, but I am so glad I did. Unlike many "celebrities" Bethany Joy is down to earth, talks to her fans, and shares her passions in much the same way we do. From new music, to outfit posts with loads more in between, it truly is an awesome blog.

 Well now there are more but I'll keep it short and sweet for now.
